MCH Base V21 single fullsize for uTCA systems up to 12 AMC boards

The MCH base board represents the basic carrier board (Tongue 1) of the MicroTCA carrier hub (MCH) in a mid/full size form factor. The basic carrier board can be extended with additional plug-on boards keeping available custom functionality.

Having up to 3 stacked plug-on cards allows individual adaptation to each of the requirements of the necessary switching and clock technology of the AMC modules used in the MicroTCA carrier and gives more flexibility in your system design:

  • the MCH base board provides the switch fabric A and the IPMB-L bus for up to 12 AMC modules, the IPMB0 bus for communication with up to two fan modules (CU) and up to 4 power modules (PU).
  • an IPMI based microcontroller allows sufficient resources for management and supervisory functions as well for user application software.
  • for remote management a fast ethernet port is available, local management as well as low level configuration that can be done via serial or USB.
  • one GbE uplink ports on the front panel allow the cascading of two MicroTCA carriers in one common shelf as well as GE-Switch management via WEB GUI.
  • the MCH21B is a cost optimised design and can be customized for user specific applications like less featured MicroTCA systems w/o active backplane.
